The New Zealand government is about to make some significant changes to the Active Investor Plus visa, which will come into effect from 1 April 2025. Some of the key changes to this visa are as follows.

Simplified investment has a Growth Category and a Balanced category. A minimum investment of NZD 5 million is required for the growth category and a minimum investment of NZD 10 million for the Balance category. Bonds, and property investments (new residential, new/ exiting commercial or industrial development) are also included in the Balance category.
Immigration rules will be made easier for migrants who make active investments, such as reducing the period of stay in New Zealand. The English language requirement has also been removed for them. Visa holders in both categories will have to invest within six months of being approved, but if they are unable to invest for any reason, they can apply for an extension of up to six months.
The Active Investor Plus visa is designed to attract wealthy investors who are expected to make a significant contribution to the New Zealand economy.
Note: These changes are intended to increase quality investment in the New Zealand economy and attract international investors through a simplified process.
